Love these but the issue I have with mine is that the locking mechanism is very uncomfortable to operate.

This is my second pair of these tongs. The design is unique with the metal extending to the tip, which helps keep a firm grip on items you pick up. It also takes less pressure to squeeze than other tongs so I don’t get hand fatigue with longer use.

Got my first pair of these tongs about 6 years ago in college at TJ Maxx or one of those stores and loved them. Recently took them on a camping trip and they got lost, I was really bummed but super happy I was able to find them on Amazon. They are simply the best tongs ever made. Far better than any of those cheap generic stainless ones you can get anywhere. Well worth the extra cost.
Pros: Strong. Great tracking (the tips always align when you close them). The locking switch on the side is a great design and much easier to use than any tongs I’ve ever tried. The silicon tips held up through years of abuse without any noticeable wear. Never a single sign of oxidation or rust.
Cons: None… literally. And it really pains me to say that
Conclusion: Buy these bad boys. They really are the best

These are great tongs with a soft ( versus hard) silicone tips, making for a better grip. The fingertip locking slider means full one hand control to lock and unlock compared to the usual situation where you have to put the tongs down or use 2 hands to do this by pulling or pushing a loop or button on the end of the tongs. Would you buy any other tongs except for the bbq where you might want longer arms.

I just ordered a replacement of these tongs I ordered almost exactly 8 years ago (23 days shy of 8 years). My son loves them, they are long enough to keep your hand away from spattering oil, they grip food securely, they can be used for stirring pasta in a sauce or turning foods in a pan. The lock can be closed with one hand, so you can put them down without having the tongs wide open, and they store in a kitchen drawer easily. They are easy to clean and have held up really well, but eventually silicone does break down, but I can’t complain about 8 years of use! Totally worth the money, not that they are overly expensive.

I have been using Zyliss tongs for so many years, I can no longer count them – maybe 15 years. And while my current 15 year old Zyliss tongs still perform and do the job like a pro, I needed to plan ahead for their pending demise. These new tongs are the same quality as my current pair and to say I love them is an understatement. I use them every single day – thank you Zyliss!!

Muy buen material y acabados. Y su sistema para cerrarlas o abrirlas con solo con el pulgar, excelente!

One complaint: the plastic used for the handgrips and sliding control is not color-stable. It originally matched the tips but is now faded and dull. No effect on functionality, but disappointing.
Searched high and low for the perfect tongs, and these are them! Notably easier to operate and more secure holding than the standard design you see everywhere. The thumb release is beautifully ergonomic and permits (indeed, encourages) one-handed operation. The tips are silicone COATED, the steel frame goes right through them and around the drain holes. This makes the tips MUCH sturdier than the all-silicone ones on 98% of the tongs out there. Handy hole for hanging. Dishwasher safe. Long enough to use even over a hot grill. Our other kitchen tools are all Le Creuset Revolution Bi-Material, expensive and worth it, but these tongs outdo them all. Most versatile, frequently used tool in our collection.

Once in awhile a product or service comes along, and it exceeds all of your expectations. I found the Zyliss tongs to be one of these products.
The rubber grips fit your hand perfectly and do not slide about. The rubber slider button is located right where your thumb rests so when you grab your tongs all you do is flick your thumb slightly forward, and the tongs open and are ready to use. To store the tongs, squeeze the arms shut, slide the thumb-button toward you, and they are locked shut.
The arms of the tongs are made of nicely brushed stainless steel. The shape of these arms is sort of a swoop – very graceful looking. But there is also a functional reason for the shape. Since all aspects of the arms are curved, there are no sharp angles that make cleaning the insides of the arms difficult. Swish a dishwashing brush over the tops and then over the insides, rinse, and you are done. The shape of the arms also adds to the strength and rigidity so you can grip heavier items like cobs of corn without any flexing or loss of grip.
The silicon-rubber gripper pads have a shape that follows the curves of the arms and are not symmetrical. The bottom edge that contacts your frying pan or other cooking surface is almost straight and at an angle. This allows a person to hold the tongs in a natural position and still grab small pieces of food that are lying flat on the cooking surface. (To prove this to myself, I tested the tongs by repeatedly grabbing a split peanut, and it easily grabbed and held onto it every time. O.K. how about a small kernel of popcorn? Again it worked perfectly.) The bottom edges of the pads are slanted slightly inward so that when you grip something the edges tend to slide a little bit under the piece of food, or if you cock the tongs a bit, you can slide the tong all the way under a burger for flipping or serving. I haven’t tried it yet, but I think these tongs would also be perfect for serving things like asparagus. The inside surface of the gripper pads are concave to help grip things like eggs and stir-fry. Along the inside bottom edges of the gripper pads are a series of molded-in bumps, starting with a tiny one in the front and progressively getting a little bigger back towards you. They seem to be very effective in gripping even greasy meats in a frying pan. I like my tongs better than a fork for cooking and serving meats. I don’t have to shake the tongs to get them to release their hold on the meat like a fork sometimes does. The rubber pads also have an ob-round hole in them. I don’t know if this adds to the grip on some things, or maybe it is just to make them look a little cutesier.
If you are like me, I’ll bet that you too will enjoy using the Zyliss tongs. And, I’ll bet that you will find yourself using them for tasks for which you previously had to use various other kitchen tools – spatulas, stirring spoons, salad tongs, or serving forks. Enjoy.

I got these because I always got cheap tongs before and they’d break within a month or two, I’ve had these for about 6 months now and use them nearly every day and they still look brand new. Very grippy and the polymer hasn’t melted in the slightest even under extreme heat.
10/10 would recommend.

Thee best silicone wrapped tongs on the market. Tip and angle are an excellent design. Tongs are very well balanced and locking/unlocking is a breeze. I’m on my second pair. First pair last over 10 years in dishwasher before silicone started to peel. Price makes them a no brainer.
