A great tool for magnifying anything that needs close up work and has a lot of lenses. Its’s also good for folks who have glasses as they fit over them. The light is nice touch as well.

It is a great tool, it’s just that the lens quality is cheap and break easily. Also the case isn’t really worth it.

As a jeweler, magnification is critical to do detail work and ease strain on my eyes. I heard lots of recommendations for the Optivisor in the jewelers community, but after researching, I chose this mighty piece of equipment instead. I’ve found it’s a way better option than Optivisor, for these reasons:
– more comfortable and quicker/easier to put on/take off
– more compact to store
– better range of lens magnification for the price
– easier to change the lenses
– more streamlined/modern look
– easy to wear with glasses, if you choose (but I find it’s not needed with the variety of lenses)
I had a problem with the lens I use most frequently falling out and breaking, so I emailed customer support by scanning the QR code in the user manual. They responded super quickly and sent me a whole set of replacement lenses for free. I was blown away!
One word of caution: Take care to store these properly, or you’ll scratch the lenses. I’m a little careless and tend to throw them on a heap of tools on my bench, but now plan to dedicate a hook to hanging them up so my new lenses don’t get scratched.
I’m super happy with this product and would highly recommend!

C’est ma deuxième acquisition. Cette fois-ci pour offrir. Je l’utilise pour la couture. La malette est importante pour protéger l’équipement.

I’m using this to see my cut lines & marks on wood better. It has 5 levels of lenses and I settled on the 1.5 power which appears to work well for me. Never using anything like this before I thought I would be using the 3.0 but that just wasn’t focusing properly for me. I’ll try that again and see if it was something I missed in the set up. Speaking of set up, there’s a bit of fiddling to get things right like removing the ear pieces & nose bridge & adding the head band. ( I found this to be more comfortable since I wear glasses. ) Then unscrewing the lens assembly to adjust to the proper focal length. ( I think this is what I need to do to make the 3.0 power to come into better focus. I think the different power levels may require a different focal length. ) None of these were hard to do but you will need a very small Phillips screwdriver like you would use for normal glasses. With the 1.5 level I am able to stand at a normal position and operate my saws & drill press and see the lines and marks without bending closer which of course is the original objective. While the built-in light works, it really isn’t all that powerful. I have magnetic re-chargeable lights to cover that though. I saw a video that suggested to get a dental type of magnifying head set but that seemed to have a ” tunnel vision ” effect to it while this one allows good peripheral views with clear vision top, bottom, and both sides. The lenses do flip up out of the way also while the dental type was fixed onto the lenses of what appear to be safety glasses and would need to be completely removed to be able to see regularly. Some of the reviews mentioned difficulty changing the lenses but I didn’t have any issues. The lenses also stayed fixed securely and not falling out like some reviews stated. Maybe the fasteners get lazy after some period of time. Time will tell. A BIG plus is that it is AMERICAN MADE. No goofy directions or pictograms’. All in all, I’m happy with this item and suggesting that you try it. You can always return it if necessary. Happy using folk’s.
Since my 1st review I have used it for cutting on my radial saw and bandsaw & it worked just fine. I still need to see about getting the 3.0 lens to focus properly and will update again when I do.

I am a 67 year old glasses wearer and I am frequently working with small electronic devices (e.g. printed circuit boards, small surface mount components, and soldering irons). As I have aged, working with small parts and assemblies has become more difficult. To that end, I have resorted to frequently removing my glasses and getting my face close to the work in order to see the detail I need. I recently decided to see if there was a solution that would fit my needs. I quickly found very high priced and high quality magnifiers from the likes of Craft Optics, but just could not justify the cost (~$500-~$800). I did some quick searching and came upon these Vision Aid devices. They offer a great deal of functionality and provide for changeable magnifications via snap on lenses. They also provide for a light source and have a good deal of adjustability. The price was very reasonable and I decided to give them a try. They are quite well made given the cost and while the optics are not top of the line ala’ Craft, they are better than I expected. After removing the nose piece, they are quite comfortable. In use , the working distance varies with the magnification (higher power requires closer working distance). For my use, I settled on the 2.5X lens, but its great to be able to snap in a different power as needed. My one gripe is that the snap on clip for the lenses is not very firm or secure. It easy to knock it out of place. I may try making some mods to fix that. The LED lamp worked better that I expected and it too is quite adjustable. Also of note is that the company sells replacement parts (e.g. lenses) on their web site. This is great as I’m sure down the road, I’ll want to replace the lenses as they get scratched with use. During my initial using, I was finding that I had some double vision issues. I contacted the company via their web site and received a prompt response with instructions to try moving the lens closer to my glasses. They also offered to allow me to return for a refund if I could not make them work for me. That’s great support! The suggestion to move the lens closer worked well for me and I am keeping them. All in all, a great product.

Got this for someone to use for painting Warhammer figurines. They loved it and it helps them get all the right spots!
