How To Reduce The Cost of Your Prescriptions

How To Reduce The Cost of Your Prescriptions

Why do I need GoodRx?

Prescription drug prices are not regulated. The cost of a prescription may differ by more than $100 between pharmacies across the street from each other!

Insurance isn’t helping like it used to. In the past 10 years, insurance companies started passing 25-80% more of the cost of drugs onto patients.

How can GoodRx help me?

GoodRx gathers current prices and discounts to help you find the lowest cost pharmacy for your prescriptions. The average GoodRx customer saves $355 a year on their prescriptions.

GoodRx is 100% free. No personal information required.

How do I find discounts for my drug?

It’s easy. Just go to the http://www.GoodRx.com home page, type in your drug’s name in the search field, and click the “Find the Lowest Price” button.

We’ll even help you spell the name of your prescription.

What are GoodRx coupons?

GoodRx coupons will help you pay less than the cash price for your prescription. They’re free to use and are accepted at virtually every U.S. pharmacy.

Your pharmacist will know how to enter the codes on the coupon to pull up the lowest discount available.

How do I use a GoodRx coupon?

It’s similar to using a coupon at a grocery store. Simply print the coupon and bring it with you to the pharmacy when you pick up your prescription. The pharmacist will enter the numbers on the coupon into their system to find the discount.

Don’t have a printer or want to save paper and ink cartridges? You can show the coupon on your phone by:

  1. A) Sending the coupon to yourself via email or text
  2. B) Or using our mobile app
  3. C) Or visiting our mobile website

How does GoodRx make money?

GoodRx is free for consumers, and they do not require that you create an account to search for prices and receive discounts.

They do not collect your personal information. They make money from advertisements on it’s site and referral fees.

Please subscribe, like and share this valuable information. GoodRx can be used by anyone with or without medical health insurance.

A Medical Expense That Really Hurts! What Could It Be?

A Medical Expense That Really Hurts!

• What could it be?

• •The average person spends over $1,000 or more per year on it!

• Most of us don’t have health insurance coverage for it!

• You need it more than ever when you are in your senior years.

• Most of us avoid thinking about it until it’s hit with right in the mouth.

• It’s the cost of your dental care!

• What About  Dental Insurance? • Dental insurance is not profitable for insurance companies and this is why it provides so little coverages.

• Adverse selection -A common example of health insurance occurs when a person waits until he knows he is sick and in need of health care before applying for a health insurance policy. Most people wait years before buying dental insurance until they need dental work. People always use up the max of dental coverages.

• The way insurance works are based that a certain percentage of people will not use the coverages which will cause the insurance company to lose money.

A Strategy To Survive Your Future

This is a strategy that I have recently adopted into my own life. It’s a subtle reminder that everything – the good and bad, pleasure and pain, approval and disapproval, achievements and mistakes, fame and shame – all come and go. Everything has a beginning and an ending and that’s the way it’s supposed to be.

Every experience you have ever had is over. Every thought you’ve ever had, started and finished. Every emotion and mood you’ve experienced has been replaced by another. You’ve been happy, sad, jealous, depressed, angry, in love, shamed, proud, and every other conceivable human feeling. Where did they all go? The answer is, no one really knows. All we know is that, eventually, everything disappears into nothingness. Welcoming this truth into your life is the beginning of a liberating adventure. Mouthwash May Be Cause Diabetes & Obesity

I know it sounds crazy!!!

It Kills Good Bacteria!

In a 2016 study, researchers found evidence that the popular mouthwash Listerine can control gonorrhea bacteria in people’s mouth and throat.

While the antibacterial fluid is used to kill harmful oral bacteria, researchers of the new study said that it could also be indiscriminately killing the beneficial strains of microbes that provide protection against obesity and diabetes, as well as those that help the body produce nitric oxide.

Nitric oxide helps regulate the insulin levels of the body. It plays an important role in regulating metabolism, balancing energy, and keeping the body’s sugar levels in check.

Frequency Of Use

  • Mouth washes act on all bacteria in the mouth, the good and the bad. By removing the good bacteria it permits the harmful bacteria to grow and increase.

Latest research is recommending that you should limit your use of mouthwash to just once a day to avoid eliminating the helpful bacteria in the mouth.

For people on Medicare, there are some changes to be aware of for 2018

For people on Medicare, there are some changes to be aware of for 2018

SOCIAL SECURITY

“Medicare is going to replace everyone’s Medicare card starting in April 2018 through April 2019. The cards will be replaced on a scheduled basis. Everyone will get a new card that will have the Social Security number removed and replaced with a unique ID number. It will look different. Nobody needs to initiate anything.”

SCAMS

“There are a lot of scams. There are people calling Medicare beneficiaries, saying they need to pay $35 for these new cards. But Medicare will never call to verify a Medicare number,” or ask for money.

For people on Medicare, there are some changes to be aware of for 2018.

The open enrollment period for Part D prescription drug plans and Part C Medicare Advantage plans is Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.

Prescription drug plans, known as Part D, are advisable for people on Medicare if you are not enrolled in an HMO with drug coverage.

In the past, Medicare allowed companies to merge their enrollees with existing plans,”  we have not heard if that is still true.

It’s important to read the annual notice of change from your company. “If people choose not to renew, they have extra time to find other coverage, but it’s important to pay attention to the dates.”

You shouldn’t risk a coverage gap. If this particular plan ends Dec. 31, you have until Feb. 28 to renew. But that leaves two months uncovered — you don’t want to do that.

People who have prescription drug coverage from a retiree plan do not need to enroll in a Part D plan. You don’t need to do anything. If you have credible coverage from a former employer or the Veterans Administration, you don’t need to enroll. Medicare Late Enrollment Penalties & Lifetime Late Enrolment Penalties

Medicare Late Enrollment Penalties

Lifetime Late Enrolment Penalties

Many older Americans who have Affordable Care Act insurance policies are going to miss a Sept. 30 deadline to enroll in Medicare, and they need more time to make the change, advocates say.

A lifetime of late enrollment penalties typically await people who don’t sign up for Medicare Part B, which covers doctor visits and other outpatient services, when they first become eligible at age 65. That includes people who mistakenly thought that because they had insurance through the ACA marketplaces, they didn’t need to enroll in Medicare.

Earlier this year, Medicare officials offered to waive penalties for the ACA insurance buyers under a temporary rule change that ends Sept. 30. Continue reading “Medicare Late Enrollment Penalties & Lifetime Late Enrolment Penalties”

What is the difference between clinical depression and depression?

Clinical depression is the more-severe form of depression, also known as major depression or major depressive disorder. It isn’t the same as depression caused by a loss, such as the death of a loved one, or a medical condition, such as a thyroid disorder.

Have You Heard of Harry The Hypnotist?

It was entertainment night at the Senior Citizens Centre.
After the community sing-along, led by Alice at the piano, it was time for the star of the show – Harry the Hypnotist!

Harry explained that he was going to put the whole audience into a trance “Yes, each and every one of you and all at the same time,” said Harry.
The excited chatter dropped to silence as Harry carefully withdrew, from his waistcoat pocket, a beautiful antique gold pocket watch and chain.

“I want you to keep your eyes on this watch” said Harry, holding the watch high for all to see.

“It’s a very special and valuable watch that has been in my family for six generations,” said Harry.

He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while quietly chanting, “Watch the watch — watch the watch —- watch the watch”

The audience became mesmerized as the watch swayed back and forth.
The lights were twinkling as they were reflected from its gleaming surfaces.

One hundred and fifty pairs of eyes followed the movements of the gently swaying watch.

They were all hypnotized.

And then, suddenly, the chain holding the watch broke!
The beautiful watch fell to the stage and burst into fragments on impact.
“SHIT!”  shouted Harry.
It took the staff three days to completely clean up the Senior Citizens Centre and Harry was never invited back again.
When nothing goes right…  Go left.

Humor is good for you, please subscribe and share this senior joke.
