It does have 2 sound modes but both sound modes sound like everything has been put in a bucket. It magnifies sound but the sound quality is terrible, I still can’t make out what people are saying.

My mother-in-law frequently loses her very expensive hearing aids because they’re so small. We thought we’d give these a try since there certainly larger and much harder to lose. They have worked surprisingly well, we even bought a second pair so that one can be fully charged at all times. She says the sound quality is not quite as good, but good enough, and at least they’re not getting lost every couple of months.
Update: One stopped working after 3 months, but I wrote the company and they sent a new one. Really like that they back up their product.

User has problems with earbuds because of ear structure. The domes that came with the unit are too small. “Ear clips” are included, but there is no instruction (other than L and R) as to how they are supposed to work The photos above are ambiguous and getting the angle right is thus far impossible. Some ear-clip guidance would be helpful, but the instruction book doesn’t mention this. When we decide that there is no way for them to stay in his ears they’re going back.
Amazon ‘chat’ support is of no use at all. Ultimately a video for a different brand unit was suggested, which did not address the problem. If you need a video to show you how to charge a USB device your problem is bigger than your hearing loss.
Aside from that, they seem to be made decently. I can wear them, but the quietest setting is way too loud. I don’t know how ‘mild’ my hearing loss is (sudden from loud noise right next to ear), but it needs to be a lot worse before this unit would be usable.
Separate volume controls for left and right ear would be nice.
I’m really disappointed, because these COULD be a very good solution to high-frequency hearing loss — otherwise known as getting older 🙁

This is my 4th try with sound augmenters. The first one had ear pieces without a neck- holder., so the ear-buds were on the carpet more than in my ears! Even when I sat perfectly still, and later bought extra small buds, they fell onto the floor, constantly.
Then, I went to the amplifiers with a neck-piece. Great. It’s very comfortable, and ear-buds stay off the floor. However, first set came with the wrong charger, whose tip did not fit into the charging port. I returned it for a replacement of same brand. Same problem; I was again sent a set with charging cord’s tip being a different size and shape from the charging port-hole. Returned it and changed brands. This one has bluetooth—which caused it to cost more, and which I NEVER use! But at least, the charger is fine.
All of these amplifiers seemed basically the same; as far as nicely enhancing conversations and making each word clear, on T.V. I can keep the TV volume VERY low (20), on my TV set, and dialogue is clear and distinct. BUT, none of the amplifiers allow for having other noise-making aappliances running. When watching TV., I must even turn off the small fan in an adjacent room, as well as the AC in the room I am in. And it picks up the sound of my footsteps as a loud, crackling noise. And a trickle of running water in the sink sounds like Niagera Falls! Also, all of the various amplifiers I have had squealed loudly, if ear-buds were not well-placed in my ears. That’s just what they all do.
So, not perfect, any of them. However, I bought mine, not for walking around, nor for long conversations; rather, I got them only to clarify dialogue in TV news and movies, and they are SUPER for that! I just wish the on/off button and the volume controls were lower down on the neckpiece—instead of at my
left jaw area. All-in-all, though, once one gets used to the quirks, they are a big help (if you get one with a neckpiece!).

These are the best hearing aids I have ever seen used, and it ain’t even close darling.
My mother’s $3,000 hearing aids went dead FOR THE SECOND TIME IN TWO YEARS, so I needed a cheap emergency solution before we we could get into the city for repairs.
My dear grandfather always taught me it is expensive to be cheap, and I live by this rule. This is the one time I get to toss the rule out of window!!!
I looked at the features of these hearing aids and thought it’s too good to be true at $50!!! The volume control works effortlessly and is insanely easy to learn, even for my 86-year old mother. The sound canceling mode is absolute GENIUS!!!
I used to have to say EVERYTHING two or three times for my mother to hear, especially with any background noise. No more background noise in noise canceling mode.
My mother asked me TO TURN THE VOLUME DOWN. WHAT???? I started talking to her, AND SHE ASKED ME NOT TO SPEAK SO LOUD!! I had to turn them down again…they’re on volume 2 of 5. And, she just asked me not to yell so loud reading her this review. I can’t help it I’m so excited!!!!!
Anybody who doesn’t think these hearing aids are 1000 times better than any other hearing aid they’ve tried is just out to lunch. I read a review that complained about background noise in the car. Tap the middle button between the volume buttons on your right collar and enjoy noise canceling mode.
These are absolutely positively the most dramatic improvement in my quality of life in years…with the exception of my new townhome in freaking paradise. But, they come close…AT $50.
Details? The cords ro the rare buds are fully adjustable in an ingenue fashion that hides extra chord. The collar is elegant and very thin: an acceptable compromise for the quality of the devise. It’s a dark grey/silver that’s barely noticeable. The tradeoff for the quality of these devices is 5,000 times worth it.
My mother is 86 and ain’t goin’ to no mo’ fashion shoots!
